New: Renovation work during the corona closing time

If no guests are allowed in the hotel, then at least construction workers are - and not too few of them! For us, standing still is not an option, which is why we used the closure period during the Corona winter 2020/21 intensively to implement many small and some larger construction measures:

Probably the most extensive and at the same time least "visible" measure was the complete roof renovation of the hotel building. The 60-year-old roof tiles were replaced by a modern cold roof, whereby special emphasis was placed on maintaining the special look of the Art Nouveau roof with the dormers and embellishing it with copper elements.

The redesign of the dining area is much more striking: our "Mayr-Stube" is now barrier-free without a stumbling step in the middle and shines with a new terrazzo floor. The rear area, the former tea bar, was completely renovated, as water had repeatedly penetrated through the barely existing foundation. On this occasion, the old wooden trams on the ceiling were uncovered there, a new "Viennese tea bar" was designed and the entire area was designed as an additional, friendly dining area.

In the rooms, no less than 9 (!) bathrooms were newly tiled and modernised and the entire room no. 25 was redesigned. Under the motto "retro meets nature", the new design room now shines in rich green tones. In addition, some rooms have been fitted with new soundproof windows and balcony doors.

We also used the renovation time in other areas to restore furniture, paint walls, touch up details, redecorate small items and much more!
